Strongsville Schools, Support Unions Sign Contract Agreement
Two chapters of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees signed a three-year contract agreement with the district.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools and two support staff unions have agreed to a three-year contract extension.
The agreement maintains the annual 2-percent salary increase included in the current contract. The extension will be in effect from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
The Ohio Association of Public School Employees, local chapters 290 and 028, include transportation, custodial and maintenance, food services, educational support, office support and technology staff in the district.

"We are pleased to have agreed to this three year contract extension for our OAPSE Local 290 staff. The OAPSE employees in our district are proud of the work done on a daily basis to provide the very best environment in the buildings for our students, staff, families, and community," said Paul Cummins, president of Local 290 and head custodian at Strongsville Middle School.
Superintendent Cameron Ryba described the contract extension as "fiscally responsible" and "in line with our forecasted budgets."

“Our local units of OAPSE provide important and necessary support for our District. This contract extension is another example of the strong relationships we continue to build with all of the employees in our school district. We appreciate the members of OAPSE and their efforts in striving to make Strongsville City Schools a premier district in Ohio,” said Richard Micko, Strongsville Board of Education president.
