As a former Strongsville school employee over the many years working for the district I have seen money poorly managed. When there was an operating levy for the schools put on the ballot I was told by administrators to remove ceiling tiles and put buckets under them to make it look like there was roof leaks when there wasn't.
An oak podium was purchased for $3,000, $7,200 of grant money spent for pictures for walls.
In 2014 the school board approved hiring of a PR firm which cost $70,500 for the first year, $7,000 a month for 3 months and $5,500 for each month after that. In 2017 bonuses for the superintendent and treasurer totaling $7,000 were approved by the board. Even though the board knew Gov. Kasich was cutting $500,000 from the Strongsville School budget.

April 2, 2019 Sun News - In February the board approved 1.5 percent pay raises for the teachers which would cost the schools $500,000. If the levy doesn't pass the school says they will cut bussing which contributes only a small part of the budget.
Don't let the school board twist your arm until you say uncle.

Vote NO on Issue 4!
Quick note: Why was the former maintenance director allowed to receive a full disability before he was prosecuted? He only served 4-1/2 months of his 8 month sentence. Other employees were involved, he did not move these items by himself.
Also, the cost to put a school levy on the ballot is between $50,000 to $75,000 each time.
