Strongsville Teacher Wins Prestigious Art Award

Carla Ganim is one of 15 teachers in the U.S. recognized for her teaching ability.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville Middle School art teacher Carla Ganim is one of 15 recipients of Artsonia's 2021 Art Education Leadership Award.

The award recognizes "pioneers in the art education community who continuously inspire their peers and engage students." Ganim’s peers and Artsonia selected her among thousands of instructors as one of 15 national winners of this award.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award from Artsonia,” Ganim said. “I feel so fortunate to have a job that I look forward to coming to each day and genuinely get excited about. I strive to create an environment in my classrooms where students are free to explore and express themselves."

Ganim is in her 10th year as an art instructor in the Strongsville’s community.

“I have had the opportunity to begin my career here in Strongsville at the elementary level and get to know all of the families and watch my students grow,” Ganim said. “When we built a new middle school, I was honored to move here and continue to see my students grow! I love teaching every grade level as they are all so different in their own unique ways.”
