Strongsville Touch-A-Truck Event Is Friday

The free family-friendly event will feature police cruisers, motorcycles, fire trucks, tow trucks and more.

STRONGSVILLE, OH - The annual, family-friendly Touch-a-Truck event will be held Friday afternoon in the parking lot of the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center.

The free event is expected to draw around 500 people from noon to 2 p.m. on June 14. Between 20 and 30 trucks, and other vehicles, are expected to be on-hand, according to Recreation Director Bryan Bogre.

The first half hour of the event will be sensory sensitive. That means, for approximately 30 minutes, families looking for a quieter Touch-a-Truck experience can visit the vehicles and see the interiors without the typical accompanying noise.

From about 12:30 to 2 p.m., attendees can pull a truck's air horn or help run a police cruiser's siren.

Bogre said Strongsville Police, Strongsville Fire and the Service Department will all send vehicles to the event. The city also expects to have cement trucks, front-end loaders, 18-wheelers, backhoe tractors, and large tow trucks at the event. A life flight helicopter may also make an appearance.
