Strongsville's Head Football Coach Resigns
Larry Laird has been leading the varsity Mustangs for three years. His resignation was announced Friday.

STRONGSVILLE, OH - Larry Laird, Strongsville High School's head football coach, has resigned. The school's administration is planning on meeting with the football team on Friday afternoon.
Laird was the head football coach for the past three years. The Strongsville City School issued a statement thanking Laird for his service to the football program and wished him well in his future endeavors.
The Mustangs had a rough 2016 season. The team struggled to a 2-8 season and lost its last game of the season to Brunswick, 31-7.

The district said that its search for a new head coach will begin immediately. Part of the district's statement is below.
Strongsville City Schools is committed to finding the best coach to guide the Mustangs high school football program. The administration has developed a process for hiring and transitioning to a new coach and will be sharing additional information with families in the football program early next week.
