SANDUSKY, OH — Three boats apparently caught fire on Monday at the Cedar Point Marina after a gas tank reportedly exploded in one of the boats, the Sandusky Register reported.

No injuries were reported in the fire that happened late afternoon. A Coast Guard spokesperson told the Register that the report of a gas tank explosion causing the fire was only an initial assessment and the Sandusky Fire Department had not confirmed it.

"At approximately 4:15 p.m., the Cedar Point and Sandusky fire departments responded to a report of a boat on fire in the Cedar Point Marina," a Cedar Point spokesperson told the Sandusky Register. "The crews are actively managing the isolated situation and there are no injuries reported. The incident did not occur on park property, and Cedar Point’s operations are not affected.”
