In today's daily, Juneteenth is officially marked a holiday in Lucas County and the City of Toledo, a shooting occurred on the I-280 overpass, a Toledo man's murder trial is postponed, and a brand new "Ale Trail" is coming to Northwest Ohio!

  1. Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz has declared Juneteenth an official holiday in the City of Toledo. The Lucas County Commissioners voted to declare Juneteenth an official holiday soon after President Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act. (13 ABC)
  2. An argument about a basketball game resulted in multiple shots fired at a West Toledo man on I-280. Jamiri Bennet told police he was at an Oregon gym where he got into an argument with another person, who then followed him in a vehicle leading up to the shooting. (WTOL)
  3. A Toledo man facing murder charges has his trial postponed in Wood County. Jerron Bryant is facing two counts of murder that allegedly resulted while Bryant was committing felonious assault. (Sentinal-Tribune)
  4. Destination Toledo launched the 419 Ale Trail in Northwest Ohio. 29 breweries in the 419 area code will be featured across 10 counties. (Toledo.com)
  5. An east Toledo man was arrested on soliciting prostitution of a minor charges after he booked a hotel room for the purposes of sex. (WTOL)

    • City of Toledo accepting applications for Parks and Recreation Youth Advisory Board
    • Community mental health organization Harbor is facilitating 300 jobs for teens this summer through their Youth Enhancement Services (YES)
    • Lunch at Levis returned June 10 and will last through September 16. It features live performances, food vendors, and other activities related to this year's Solheim Cup and Toledo Jeep Fest
    • Toledo Night Market returns beginning June 19 and will host live music, food, and shopping plus free parking near the Toledo Farmer's Market, 6-11 PM monthly
    • The Toledo Symphony Orchestra and the Toledo Ballet have joined forces at the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts and have announced an exciting 2021/2022 season
    • Toledo School for the Arts offering music lessons focusing on a "drumline" every Wednesday at five city parks. The program is for children of all ages and does not require any experience or reservations. (WTOL)
