In today's daily, Congressman Bob Latta demands the return of mail sorting services in NW Ohio, a new winery opens in Maumee, Toledo will be the test city for a new rideshare app, and a drunk driver hits a Toledo Police car after officers responded to a separate crash.

  1. Ohio Congressman Bob Latta calls for a return of the mail processing services in Northwest Ohio in a letter written to United States Post Office Postmaster General Louis Dejoy. Mail sorting services have been moved to Michigan during the last president's administration. (West Bend News)
  2. Nigel Burgoine, Artistic Director for the Ballet Theatre of Toledo, has invented a new game called Spongeheads, which involves a player balancing a sponge on their head while a rival team tries to knock it off with a wet sponge. Mr. Burgoine doesn't plan to market the game for profit. (13 ABC)
  3. A new winery opens this weekend in Maumee. Urban Pine Winery receives grapes from all over the world and oversees the fermentation process themselves. (WTOL)
  4. Toledo Police were assisting with the aftermath of a car accident when another vehicle crashed into one of their patrol cars on I-75. 23-year-old Malik Hampton was later charged with an OVI (operating a vehicle impaired) as well as gun charges related to a loaded firearm in the car. (WTOL)
  5. Toledo will be the testing site of a new rideshare app developed by AAA and Share Mobility aimed at helping seniors. The program will not require a phone app and will transport seniors to popular destinations such as restaurants, grocery stores, parks, etc. — and does not require a AAA membership. (13 ABC)

    • Toledo brings back Movies in the Park series, June 24 - September 16
    • City of Toledo accepting applications for Parks and Recreation Youth Advisory Board
    • Community mental health organization Harbor is facilitating 300 jobs for teens this summer through their Youth Enhancement Services (YES)
    • Lunch at Levis returns June 10 and will last through September 16 and features live performances, food vendors, and other activities related to this year's Solheim Cup and Toledo Jeep Fest
    • Toledo Night Market returns beginning June 19 and will host live music, food, and shopping plus free parking near the Toledo Farmer's Market, 6-11 PM monthly
    • The Toledo Symphony Orchestra and the Toledo Ballet have joined forces at the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts and have announced an exciting 2021/2022 season
