Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Perrysburg Student

Lindy Brown of Perrysburg was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for April in recognition of her achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Lindy, a seventh grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by her Science teacher Mrs. Reger because of her hard work and the example she sets for her classmates by going above and beyond to submit her very best work. As a Star Student, Lindy will be presented a certificate recognizing her achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.

Lindy enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy this year after her family moved to Ohio from Colorado. Her transition to the online school was extremely simple as she previously attended Colorado Connections Academy.

“The faculty, staff and members of the board at Ohio Connections Academy are proud to recognize students like Lindy and the commitment they demonstrate to our school and their community,” said OCA Superintendent Marie Hanna. “Each of our Star Students are leaders in the classroom and demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to learning – they truly deserve this recognition.”

Each month OCA recognizes two students in each of the four grade bands for their achievements in and out of the classroom. The following Ohio Connections Academy students were also recognized as Star Students of the Month for April:

• Ujjvala Nitai Das, Kindergarten, Columbus
• Shannon Mullaly, 2nd Grade, Wickliffe
• To’Mya Reed, 4th Grade, Canton
• Aiden Richards, 5th Grade, Dayton
• Lillian Lippeatt, 9th Grade, Mason

Ohio Connections Academy is a free, fully-online virtual public school that students in grades K-12 attend from home.
