Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. U.S. Marshals are seeking information on 35-year-old Toledo fugitive Jermell Toney. Toney is charged with escape after being furloughed on Sept. 26 and his last known address was in the 900 block of Prospect. (WTOL)
  2. The City of Toledo has officially declared the Greenbelt Place Apartments a nuisance, and the Texas owners are required to alleviate the issues. The building will be inspected next week by the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) and Ohio Rep Marcy Kaptur is involved. (13abc Action News)
  3. Pfizer booster shot clinics have been announced and will be available at the Lucas County Rec Center in Maumee beginning Sept. 29. Residents over 65, as well as health care workers, daycare employees, grocery store workers, prison personnel, and teachers, will have first priority. (13abc Action News)
  4. 15-year-old Ottawa Hills student Chimney Khare has been nationally recognized for cancer research. Khare has been working with the University of Toledo and was named one of the Society for Science Top 300 Broadcom MASTERS of 2021 for his research on cancer. (WNWO NBC 24)
  5. The Days Inn Hotel on Miami Street was ordered to close for one year by Judge Joseph Howe out of the Toledo Municipal Court. The order comes after the City of Toledo filed suit claiming police had been called to the hotel 182 times between 2018 and 2020. (WNWO NBC 24)
