Hudson's 'Holiday Art Hop' To Be Held Friday, Dec. 8

TWINSBURG, OH --Hudson's Holiday Art Hop is scheduled to take place Friday, Dec. 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in historic downtown Hudson. Guests can enjoy local art, handmade gifts and holiday cheer from 10 galleries, studios and shops around town. Two areas will feature Hudson's Holiday Hop galleries: Historic North Main Street includes seven participants, and just down the street on Darrow Road, there will three more Holiday Hop participants. The Hudson's Holiday Hop is the final hop of the 2017 Second Friday Art Hop season.

Historic Main Street Participants:

• The Learned Owl, 204 N. Main Street -- Meet author Barb Youel and her book titled, “First Serve: 40 Delicious Plant-Based Recipes for a Year of Tennis Grand Slams and Club Matches.”
• Peachtree Southern Kitchen, 200 N. Main Street -- Three floors of art! Guest artist is Sarah Dalesandro, an abstract artist, originally from Memphis, now living in Hudson.
• Uncommon Art, 178 1⁄2 N. Main Street -- Will feature altered clothing by Linda Ackerman of Paper Rose Designs – Altered Couture. Come pick out the perfect outfit for your holiday parties!
• Open Door Coffee, 164 N. Main Street -- Will feature Susan Terkel’s up-cycled hats, mittens, beaded necklaces with all proceeds going to the Lesotho Connection orphanage.
• Hudson Fine Art & Framing, 160 N. Main Street -- Ornaments from Metal Petal Studio and Iron Maiden Art will be available.
• Fair Trade on Main, 134 N. Main Street -- Fair Trade will feature the Women's Club of Hudson, with Hudson clock tower bricks, coasters, painted signs and a metal clock tower votive to help raise scholarship funds.
• Suburban Sit, 98 N. Main Street -- Featuring clay pieces, hand-dyed napkins and much more by graphic designer and art director Nikki Mezic.

South Hudson Participants:

• The Red Twig, 5245 Darrow Road -- The Red Twig will feature mixed-media artist Jane Wetzel, plus Jennifer Worden, Cleveland Street Glass, Kabir Syed, Sarah Greer, Whistlers Glenn Alpacas.
• Olive My Heart, 5108 Darrow Road -- Olive My Heart will feature wildlife paintings by Geoff Mowry.
• Standing Rock Gallery, 5194 Darrow Road -- Standing Rock will feature handmade holiday ornaments, a new Hudson jewelry artist as well as some holiday cheer.
