Mailman Indicted For Stealing Mail In Twinsburg

The mail carrier allegedly stole the contents of 74 letters and packages.

TWINSBURG, OH — A Euclid mail carrier is accused of stealing the contents of 74 letters and packages. The letters were stolen from residences in Twinsburg, along the man's route.

Condrick E. Womack, Sr., 38, of Euclid, was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He was indicted on one count of theft of mail matter by officer or employee.

According to the indictment against Womack, he took letters and packages entrusted to him between June 2016 and September 14, 2016. All of the mail was meant to be delivered in Twinsburg by Womack.

Most of the thefts were of cash and gift cards, according to the Twinsburg Bulletin. Womack was employed at the Twinsburg Post Office on Darrow Road.

An investigation into the disappearing mail was led by the Gates Mills Police Department, the Twinsburg Police Department, and the U.S. Postal Service — Office of Inspector General. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Henry F. DeBaggis.
