Youngstown School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Youngstown is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Youngstown City School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/10 - 8/11: Teacher Reports
• 8/14: First Day for Students
• 8/23: YSU Fall Term Begins

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/8: Interim Reports Home

October

• 10/12: 90-Minute Early Dismissal, Grade Period 1 Ends, Parent Teacher Conferences (3:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
• 10/13: No School for Students (NEOEA Day)
• 10/18: Report Cards Home

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans’ Day)
• 11/16: Interim Reports Home
• 11/22: No School for Students (Compensatory Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/15: 90 Minute Early Dismissal, Grade Period 2 Ends, YSU Classes End
• 12/20: Report Cards Home
• 12/22 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/3: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/1: Interim Reports Home
