Man Shot, Killed By Oklahoma City Police Has Been Identified

BREAKING: Officials said the man and a police officer were fighting over the officer's gun.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Police have identified a man shot and killed by an Oklahoma City police officer allegedly during a scuffle over a gun on Sunday. The man was identified as Kyle Anthony Mihecoby, 28, of Newalla.

Officer Bethany Sears shot Mihecoby to death on Sunday during a fight over her gun, police Capt. Bo Mathews said on Monday. Police previously Mihecoby knocked away the officer's pepper spray and grabbed her stun gun during a struggle.

Mihecoby died at the scene.

Sears was treated at a hospital for injuries and is expected to be ok. Sears was placed on paid leave pending the outcome of an investigation, Mathews said.
