Noose Found In Enid High School Locker Room
"The person responsible, when found, will be held accountable for his or her actions," school officials said in a joint statement.

ENID, OK — A chair and a USB cord with a 2-inch noose was found hanging in the visiting team's locker room of Enid High School earlier this week and now school officials in two districts are investigating.
Players from Ponca City Junior High School found the noose before a 7th and 8th grade football game Tuesday night. The noose was hanging in a shower stall, Enid schools officials said.
Ponca City Public School superintendent Shelley Arrott said she learned of the noose Thursday morning and has contacted Enid administrators. One Ponca City parent said he had to explain to his 13-year-old son what a noose symbolizes. The noose has long been used as a form of racial intimidation.
Superintendents from Ponca City and Enid public schools said in a joint statement that the noose was "insensitive and unacceptable." The superintendent of Enid Public Schools didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.

"The person responsible, when found, will be held accountable for his or her actions," the joint statement said. "Additionally, we will continue to educate our students about tolerance and respect for others, in all situations."
