Oklahoma Crossbow Killing: 10-Year-Old Slain, 13-Year-Old Arrested
The death wasn't "because of an accident," authorities said Monday.

CHANDLER, OK — A 13-year-old boy in Oklahoma shot a 10-year-old boy with an arrow from crossbow, killing him, and the arrow traveled through his body and struck the younger boy's brother in the arm, authorities said. The older child was arrested.
Austin Almanza was identified as the boy slain Saturday, Lincoln County Sheriff Charles Dougherty said. The brother's age wasn't released. Austin's death wasn't "because of an accident," the sheriff said during a news conference Monday, but rather stemmed from a dispute involving the three boys. He didn't release the suspect's name.
Deputies are investigating the case as a homicide, he said, and plan to present their findings to the county prosecutor, who will then decide on whether to press charges.
