Don't Flake Out - Timberline Has Snow

Yes, it's October. Yes, Mt. Hood is 11,250-feet high. So, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that there is snow on the mountain.

But the snow - for the second time in five days - is falling at Timberline Lodge, which, at 5,960 feet high, is quite a bit lower than the summit.

So, what's it all mean?

Not a whole lot really beyond the fact that fall really is here, there will be more snow, and people are excited, getting their skis ready.

They're still going to have to be patient. Ski runs don't usually open until close to Thanksgiving.
