Evacuations Issued For Parts Of Troutdale: Multnomah County Sheriff

The Eagle Creek Fire continues to spread and cause more evacuations, which are now affecting the Portland metro region.

TROUTDALE, OR — The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office now includes parts of Troutdale in its ongoing Eagle Creek Fire evacuation efforts.

Shortly after noon Monday, sheriff's officials issued Level 1 evacuation alerts for residents east of Southwest 257th Avenue and north of Southeast Stark Street in Troutdale.

Level 1 evacuation just asks residents to pay close attention to what's happening in the event a full-scale evacuation (Level 3) is issued.

The Eagle Creek Fire already caused MCSO and Hood River County Sheriff's officials to issue evacuation orders for the Cascade Locks area since it began Saturday afternoon — reportedly after some unidentified individuals were seen throwing firecrackers into a wooded crevasse in the Columbia River Gorge.

All evacuating residents are encouraged to meet at Mt. Hood Community College, though its proximity to the area now affected could raise new problems.
