Former Centennial High School Staffer Sent Nude Images To Student

Kecia Weaver was in court on Monday, pleading guilty to one count of luring a minor. She will spent two years on probation.

PORTLAND, OR – Kecia Weaver was in Multnomah County Court on Monday learning that she would spend the next two years on probation. It was part of a plea deal in which the former staffer at Centennial High School admitted that she had lured a minor – a student at the school.

Weaver, 32, became the focus of a Gresham Police investigation after the school's principal notified them of concerns about a sexual relationship between a student and and staff member.

Detectives determined that while Weaver and the student – communicating through Snapchat – had exchanged sexually explicit images and videos, there had not been a physical relationship.

During Monday's hearing, Deputy District Attorney Nicole Hermann said that the plea offer was crafted after consideration of the facts, discussions with the victim, and a review of information by the defense.

"There was a very extensive psycho-sexual evaluation that was done that provided a lot of information both about Ms. Weaver and about how to move forward," Hermann said.

Based on that evaluation, Weaver will also have to participate in treatment classes and counseling.

Weaver will not be allowed to contact the victim, have unsupervised contact with a minor, or use social media apps without permission from her probation officers.

After the hearing, Hermann added that: "Thankfully, cases like these are rare in Multnomah County."

"That said, as students go back to school, we must demand accountability from those individuals whom we trust to watch over our children while they are in school."
