Grant Application Deadline Nears For Gresham-Based Art Programs
The city's Arts and Cultural Assistance Grants are designed to help those who seek to enrich the community's arts, culture and heritage.
GRESHAM, OR — Applications for the city of Gresham's Arts and Cultural Assistance Grant program are due by 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15. With $20,000 total to disperse, the maximum amount available to any one group is $6,000, which must be used by June 30, 2018.
The grants are meant to help further the city's mission to enrich the arts, culture and heritage of the community, according to city spokeswoman Elizabeth Coffey. However, the grants are only available to nonprofits located within the Gresham city limits and residents who have partnered with a qualifying nonprofit, she said.
Eligibility requirements for nonprofits and individuals can be found at the city's website, or by clicking here. It's worth noting specifically that all prospective applicants must show they're supported financially by more than city government and that the amount requested in the grant is at maximum 50 percent of the entire cost of the proposed project.

Last year's grant recipients were the Center for the Arts Foundation, the Gresham Historical Society, Gresham Outdoor Public Art, MetroEast Community Media, the Mt. Hood Pops Orchestra and the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra, and the SALT Academy and Performing Arts.
