Gresham-Barlow School District Selects New Principal for Deep Creek-Damascus

The new principal, Lori Walter, brings 18 years of administrative experience to Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School.

GRESHAM, OR – Gresham-Barlow School District officials announced Tuesday that Lori Walter, currently principal at Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School, will be the next principal of West Gresham Elementary.

"During her administrative career Ms. Walter has shown that she is an effective leader focused on building positive relationships with students, staff, and families," said Superintendent Jim Schlachter in a statement. "She emphasizes collaboration to bring the school community together in its work to serve students."

According to school officials, Walter was influential in the 2014 merger of Deep Creek Elementary School and Damascus Middle School following the failed school bond in November 2013 that sought to remodel the Deep Creek facility built in 1975.
