From Gresham to Portland, Residents Could be Healthier
New survey by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin find Multnomah County has lots of room to improve

You could do better as far as your health is concerned.
There are some good things like great access to exercise opportunities and a very low level of physical activity, but when it comes to overall health, when compared to other counties in Oregon, Multnomah is decidedly in the middle of the pack.

That's according to a new survey by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin.
The survey measures counties by dozens of measures from the length of your commute, how much air pollution there is, and how active people are, to obesity rates, teen birthrates, and how many uninsured people there are to death rates, access to exercise opportunities, and how many doctors there are.

Researchers claim that "very year, nearly 1,900 deaths in Oregon could be avoided if all residents in the state had a fair chance to be healthy."
The survey found that Multnomah County has some areas to work on including too many smokers, to many excessive drinkers and too many instances of sexually transmitted infections.
