Gresham Skate World Closing Its Doors After 44 Years
Managers say that the business was doing okay but the owners received an offer for the property that they couldn't refuse.

GRESHAM, OR – From the woman who met her husband there (they've now been married 33-years) to the kids in the junior roller derby league who compete there, Gresham Skate World has provided memories for generations. That is coming to an end at the end of the month.
The business is shutting its door after 44 years in Gresham.

"Although it saddens me to announce, Gresham Skateworld will be closing our doors," General Manager Justin Bird wrote. "We would like to thank all our loyal customers."
The owners hadn't been planning on closing but recently received an offer for the property that they couldn't refuse.

The last night of skating will be on October 28th.
The news comes on the heels of the Skate World in Springfield closing in August. A third Skate World – in Hillsboro – closed four-years-ago.
