Injured Hikers Rescued on Mt. Hood
Hikers made it back to the parking lot of Timberline at 5 p.m..

Two hikers injured on Mt. Hood have been rescued and are at the hospital getting checked out.
The hikers had been up around 10,500 feet in the area of the south climbing chute above Hogsback when they fell.
They called 911 around 9 a.m.. While injured, they were alert.

A Reach and Treat team from AMR reached the climbers around 1:30 p.m. and have walked them back down the mountain.
By 5 p.m. they made it back to the parking lot of Timberline Lodge.

The hikers were identified as Patrick Lueb, 49, of Arlington, Virginia, and Mark Gerschoffer, 52, of El Cajon, California.
They were taken to Mt. Hood Medical Center for evaluation.
Lueb had cuts on his face and had injured his ribs.
Portland Mountain Rescue assisted in the recovery and Mountain Wave Communications has been providing communication support.
