This Is Oregon's 'Prettiest Town'

Manzanita is the state's prettiest town, a highly regarded magazine has decided.

Architectural Digest magazine, in a new feature, has named the town as the prettiest in all of Oregon. The piece, which picks the prettiest town in every U.S. state, was published July 16.

"This spot on Oregon’s fog-laced coastline is a stunning getaway from Portland, just under a two-hour car ride, and—if you’re lucky—you might see whales during their twice-annual migration (usually in the winter and spring)," the magazine says.

Carmel-by-the-Sea was the choice in California and Friday Harbor, which is part of the San Juan Islands, topped the list for Washington.
