Albertson's May Be Headed Back to Lake Oswego
Reports have Haggen closing some stores, selling others as move through bankruptcy continues

Alberton's, which gave up a store in Lake Oswego when it merged with Safeway, may be returning to Boones Ferry Road.
The Portland Tribune reports that Haggen has postponed plans to auction off 33 stores until March 18 and that Albertson's, which gave up several stories as a result of the merger, is negotiating to get some of them back.
The Boones Ferry Road location is reportedly one of them.

The paper reports that Haggen confirmed that they have received approval to begin going-out-of-business sales at four stores: West Linn, Clackamas, Federal Way, and Burien.
Meanwhile, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union local that represents Haggen workers in the area, posted a notice on their website that they are aware f the closings and will be sending updates to its members.

Haggen, which had long been a smaller supermarket operator, grew very quickly when it purchased a bunch of stores that Albertson's and Safeway were forced to sell off when they merged.
Haggen expanded too fast and ended up in bankruptcy court.
