Child Started Residential Fire In West Linn: Fire Authorities
The child who started the fire on the corner of Dollar and 16th streets on Saturday will be required to join a youth intervention program.
WEST LINN, OR — A destructive residential fire in West Linn over the weekend was reportedly caused by a child who was playing with fire, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue officials announced Monday.
The child, who will not be identified, will need to take part in a youth intervention program for fire safety education, officials said.
TVF&R crews, along with Lake Oswego Fire, Clackamas Fire District #1, Gladstone Fire, AMR and the West Linn Police Department, were dispatched to a fire on the corner of Dollar and 16th streets in West Linn just before 5:30 p.m. July 28.

The 911 caller reportedly told dispatchers a shed and row of trees was burning.
When West Linn fire crews arrived at the home they found "significant flames and smoke" coming from parts of the house, officials said.

Firefighters were reportedly able to get control of the blaze within about 45 minutes, though numerous emergency crews were required.
Four adults, two kids, and one dog were collectively displaced from a nearby townhome and the damaged residence as a result of the fire.
