Climate Change and Rising Tides Will Sink Thousands of Oregon Homes, Says New Report
Zillow used NOAA data to look at cities in 23 states. The gist - buy a life preserver.

It may not be the best time to make long-term real estate investments along the Oregon Coast, according to a new report from Zillow, the real estate website.
The website used data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to look at the 23 states in the U.S. along the coast to examine which parts would be underwater if sea levels rise by as much as 6 feet.
Zillow said that benchmark was picked because some researchers say that is how much sea levels could rise by 2100.

In Oregon, 4,959 homes would potentially be underwater, the website says. The total value of those homes would be $1 billion.
The "good news" is that Oregon won't be as bad off as some other places.

California would lose an estimated 42,353 homes. Massachusetts would lose an estimated 62,069 homes. Florida would lose nearly 1 million homes.
Unfortunately, Zillow does not list the actual addresses of the homes it says would be lost.
