Community School Director Promoted To Elementary Principal

Twelve-year LOSD veteran Melissa Griffiths will replace former Hallinan Elementary Principal Alix Pickett. Griffiths will serve as interim.

From Lake Oswego School District: Superintendent Michael Musick announced today that Melissa Griffiths has been promoted to the position of interim principal at Hallinan Elementary School. She replaces principal Alix Pickett and will begin immediately. Griffiths has been with Lake Oswego School District for 12 years.

Since becoming the Director of the Community School in 2014, she has developed and implemented programs that enrich student experiences while boosting academic achievements. This summer, Griffiths will implement a new summer transition program for incoming Kindergarteners.

“We are so excited to promote from within,” said Musick. “Melissa is a talented and passionate educator. She did her internship at Hallinan just a few years back and is familiar with the school and staff. She has done an outstanding job with Community School and I expect her to thrive at Hallinan.”
