Giant Pumpkin Regatta Returns To Tualatin In October

This marks the 15th consecutive year Tualatin residents have lined Tualatin Commons Park to support and cheer on the pumpkin racers.

TUALATIN, OR — The 15th annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta returns to the Tualatin Lake of the Commons this October.

According to event organizers, the regatta over the past 14 years has become one of Oregon's most popular fall community events, with spectators traveling from far and wide to see people race giant, 1,000-pound pumpkins fashioned into boats at Tualatin Commons Park.

This year's regatta will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at 8325 S.W. Nyberg St. Featuring fun for the whole family, attendees and spectators will be treated to food and drink vendors, a pie eating contest, pumpkin bowling and golf, a kids' costume contest, and of course the main event: costumed characters racing 1,000 pound-plus pumpkins over four heats.
