Lake Oswego Gets New Principal From North Clackamas
Kristen Colyer will take over as assistant principal of Lakeridge High School beginning July 2. Colyer replaces Desiree Fisher.

From Lake Oswego Schools: Superintendent Michael Musick announced today that Kristen Colyer has been hired as the new assistant principal at Lakeridge High School. She replaces assistant principal Desiree Fisher who was promoted to interim principal. She will start July 2, 2018.
Colyer comes to Lake Oswego from North Clackamas School District (NCSD). For that last two years, she has been a talent acquisition and retention specialist in the human resources department. Part of her responsibilities is to be a substitute principal throughout the district as needed.
In addition, she is responsible for providing professional development for teachers and substitutes. Colyer’s other positions with NCSD include TeachOregon Grant Liaison/Teacher.

From 1996 to 2015, she was an elementary and intermediate teacher for the district.
“Kristen is going to be an excellent addition to our Pacer Family,” said interim principal Desiree Fisher. “She is a committed educator and has a depth of knowledge in equity-based leadership that we will rely on as we move forward in our school and district to make equitable educational practices our focus. She brings a great energy to our school's already amazing climate. We could not be more thrilled to have Kristen on our team.”

Colyer’s community focused and collaborative approach helped her create a partnership with Portland State University, Portland Public Schools, and David Douglas School District into increase teacher and staff diversity through career pathways, recruiting, professional development and mentoring. She was also an Equity in Instruction Cadre member and a Response to Intervention committee member, in addition to other leadership roles.
Colyer has a master of Arts in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from the University of Portland. She is a native Oregonian currently living in Wilsonville with her husband, Brendan, and their two sons, Sean and Nick. Monte, their dog, keeps all of them highly entertained.
