LAKE OSWEGO, OR – Forget about sit, stay, and roll over. This is one dog who can track, apprehend, and help pull someone from a car.
Meet Szemi, a three-year-old German Shepherd. He is the newest K9 Officer working for the Lake Oswego Police Department.
He and his handler, Police Officer Erich Mayr, recently completed a 240-hour (over 6-weeks) training course and are now patrolling the streets of Lake Oswego.

Szemi, who arrived in Lake Oswego from Hungary, and Myr focused on building, area, and article searches. They both worked on their tracking skills, door checks, working on the water, and more.

The training class was taught by Officer Shawn Debler from the Gresham Police Department.
