2-Hour Late Start For Lake Oswego Schools Wednesday

A winter weather advisory sparked early releases Tuesday and school closures Wednesday across the metro region.

LAKE OSWEGO, OR — School district officials late Tuesday announced classes on Wednesday would, at a minimum, be on a 2-hour late start. Many schools in the metro region canceled classes altogether.

Lake Oswego officials said on Twitter they would reassess the situation early Feb. 21 and announce any changes before 6:30 a.m.

Weather forecasts issued late Monday called for a winter weather advisory across a good portion of the Pacific Northwest, with upward of 4 inches of snow possible in some areas.

Schools let out early Tuesday, expecting the snow to begin earlier in the afternoon, but the storm didn't end up hitting the area until around 7 p.m.
