Milwaukie Couple Crashes Car Into Garage: Police
Scott and Destiny Keast allegedly tried to outrun police Wednesday night. They didn't.
MILWAUKIE, OR — A police chase that began in Milwaukie Wednesday night ended with the suspect vehicle crashing into a garage in Portland, according to police officials. Two people are now facing charges.
Scott Raymond Keast, 34, was taken to Clackamas County Jail following his arrest. His pending charges include unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempt to elude, and possession of methamphetamine.
Destiny Doniel Keast, 28, was questioned and released at the scene. She is also facing a charge for possession of meth.

The Keasts were reportedly driving a blue Honda Civic near Southeast King Road and Southeast Bell Avenue in Milwaukie around 11 p.m. Oct. 17 when a Milwaukie police officer instructed them to pull over for not having license plates on the vehicle. When the officer initiated the traffic stop, however, Scott, who was driving, chose instead to flee.
The officer pursued the Keasts for nearly five miles before Scott drove the Honda into the detached garage of a home near Southeast 111th Avenue and Southeast Harold Street in Portland. After the crash, both Scott and Destiny tried to get away on foot.

The Keasts were arrested shortly after the crash, with help from Portland police.
During the ensuing investigation, officers learned the Honda was reported stolen from Portland.

Scott in 2003 was sentenced to five years in prison after he was convicted for recklessly endangering another person, attempting to elude police, and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was released in 2007, but quickly found himself back in trouble.
In 2009 Scott was convicted of felon in possession of a firearm.
