Mother, Daughter Killed In Christmas Car Crash: Police

A mom and daughter from Lake Oswego were killed and two people from Portland were injured when they collided on Highway 26 Monday.

MT. HOOD NATIONAL FOREST, OR — A two-vehicle crash in the mountains on Highway 26 Monday afternoon took the lives of two Lake Oswego residents, according to Oregon State Police. Speed is reportedly considered a contributing factor.

Just before 3:30 p.m. Dec. 25, troopers were dispatched to milepost 65 on Highway 26, just southeast of the Highway 35 intersection. There, authorities found a white 2008 Nissan Versa and a 2018 Subaru Outback had collided after the Versa lost traction in the eastbound lane and slid into the westbound lane.

The Outback reportedly slammed into the passenger side of the Versa.
