5 Events This Week at the Oregon City Library

Use Legos, sing in Spanish and learn about the artist Lichtenstein at the Oregon City Library this week.

OREGON CITY, OR — Libraries are the best place in town to borrow books, music and movies, allowing residents to research topics and find important references for work, school and their personal lives. The events calendar of the Oregon City Public Library offers a great deal of benefits for local residents. Check out these five worthwhile events coming up as we approach the end of October.

  • Silly Songs with Karen: There are two editions of this fun event at 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Miss Karen will perform a number of silly songs and share even sillier stories. The event is open to birth up to age 3.
  • Amigos de Libros Storytime: Miss Brenda brings together a league of language learners to read stories and participate in hands-on learning activities in both English and Espanol. It’s for kids ages 2 to 8 and takes place every Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.
  • Art Lab: Lichtenstein: This activity is open to kids and grownups, encouraging participants to get their hands dirty at art lab. Each week, you can learn about the form of a famous artist or art technique. This Wednesday at 3 p.m., you can learning about Lichtenstein.
  • Music & Movement Storytime: Miss Barratt leads an all-singing, all-dancing morning of stories and fun. It’s such a great excuse to move around and have fun, you’ll hardly believe you’re in a library. It’s open to children up to age 5 every Thursday at 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Lego Lab: The Lego sets are there waiting for you at the Oregon City Library every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Kids of all ages are encouraged to come down and build Lego sculptures, which are displayed in the Children’s Room for everyone to admire.

The Lake Oswego Public Library is located at 606 John Adams St. They're open Monday - Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 503-657-8269 or see the full list of events on their website.
