Clackamas Sheriff Identifies Driver In Fatal Crash On Friday
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says that 78-year-old William Snyder of Boring was found dead in his Jeep Cherokee last Friday.

OREGON CITY, OR – The Clackamas County Sheriffs Office has named the driver in last week's fatal crash into the North Fork Deep Creek. They say that 78-year-old William Snyder of Boring was the only person in the Jeep Cherokee.
Deputies responded to the creek on Friday, Jan. 25, after getting a report that there was a vehicle off of the road.
Working with personnel from Sandy Fire and the Clackamas County Water Rescue Consortium, deputies found the 2011 silver Cherokee upside down in the creek by Northeast Orient Drive and Revenue Road.

The man now identified as Snyder was dead at the scene.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the Jeep to cross lanes and travel down an embankment.
They suspect that Snyder had not been able to negotiate a turn.
