Dutch Bros Donates $5,400 To Clackamas Service Center

The nonprofit social service provider suffered a blow July 3 when its facility in Clackamas was damaged by fire.

CLACKAMAS, OR — One week after the Clackamas Service Center was gutted by fire, a locally owned Dutch Bros coffee stand donated a day's worth of revenue to help keep the non-profit social services provider afloat.

Since 1971, the Clackamas Service Center (CSC) at 8800 S.E. 80th Ave. has provided food, clothing, and other services to anyone struggling with self-sufficiency and housing issues. But on July 3, that mission hit a speed bump when a portion of the CSC building caught fire.

Clackamas Fire District crews were able to stop the blaze before the building was a total loss, but the damage was still too extensive for the CSC to continue business as usual. A popup notification on the CSC's homepage acknowledges the organization's closure and informs clients where CSC staff will continue to offer some services, such as OutsideIn medical services and mail, clothing, and hygiene services.

Stepping in to assist with the CSC's effort to raise funds for repairs, the owners of Dutch Bros locations in Tualatin and Clackamas, Shane and Jen Roberts, decided to donate the proceeds from sales on Wednesday, July 12, at the Dutch Bros Clackamas coffee stand, located at 9721 S.E. 82nd Ave. In total, the Roberts Family donated more than $5,400.

"Our community and customers never cease to amaze us with the amount of support and love they constantly pour back into our community," Jenn said in a statement. "We are so thankful that we were able to rally together to support an organization that supports so many."

According to Dutch Bros spokeswoman Jen Wheatley, the Roberts Family opened their first Dutch Bros in Tualatin in 2004 and have since poured thousands of dollars annually into local causes, such as the Tualatin Schoolhouse Pantry Food Bank and Northwest Family Services.

"I love that Dutch Bros gives us a platform to give back to our community," Shane said. "It's so much more than just a good cup of coffee."
