Gas Prices Climb in Oregon City Ahead of Christmas
Oregon drivers will pay more at the pump over the holidays than last year with average prices around $2.40 per gallon.

OREGON CITY, OR - Oregon drivers hitting the road for the holiday will be paying more at the pump as the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded rose half a cent to $2.40, according to AAA.
Oregon is one of 44 states where drivers are paying more at the pump week-over-week.
"Gas prices continue to rise due to market expectations of tighter crude oil supplies, following the announcement of an OPEC deal to cut oil production that is scheduled to begin in January," AAA Oregon/Idaho Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds said in a news release.

Typically retail fuel prices decrease in November and December due to less demand and the cheaper winter-blend fuel, according to AAA.
The West Coast continues to have some of the most expensive gas prices in the country, and some states in this region are inching back toward $3 a gallon. Hawaii is most expensive, followed by California, Alaska, Washington and District of Columbia. Oregon is eighth for the second week in a row.

Drivers are paying more to fill up compared to one year ago. Oregon drivers are paying 10 cents more than a year ago.
