Guild Mortgage Ends 2015 as the Leading Purchase Loan Lender in Oregon

More than $1.6 billion in mortgages closed for the year, $1.2 billion in purchase loans

Guild Mortgage Co., one of the fastest-growing independent mortgage banking companies in the country, closed over $1.6 billion in mortgages in the state of Oregon in 2015, according to data compiled by CoreLogic. Approximately $1.2 billion of this total came from purchase loan transactions, making Guild the largest purchase loan lender in the state.

Aaron Nemec, Guild's national retail manager and executive vice president, said Guild anticipates its record pace will continue into 2016 based upon its application volume. Through February 2016, Guild rose to No. 1 in total loans in Oregon as well as purchase loans.

Nemec praised the combined efforts of Guild's loan officers and operations employees for their tremendous efforts in helping Guild achieve the top position among lenders in Oregon. He said the region benefited from the leadership of Bob Engelke, state manager, Portland; Jim Smith, district manager, Portland; Larry Unger, Portland branch manager; Scott Starr and Patrick Welberg, branch managers for Guild's Lake Oswego locations; and Gayla Lloyd, operations manager, Portland. Guild has 15 branch and satellite locations in the Portland metro area and a total of 31 locations throughout the state.

“Having an entrepreneurial culture, hiring quality people and delivering superior customer service have been the keys to our success,” said Engelke, state manager. “More homebuyers chose Guild over any other lender in Oregon to finance their home in 2015. Growing our business in Oregon and south west Washington has been rewarding and we are giving back. Through our Guild Giving Program, our employees have committed to improving the communities we live and work in, donating both time and money for important local organizations and causes. We’re looking forwarding to giving even more back to our communities in 2016, and delivering a great home buying experience to our customers and referral partners.”

"With a dynamic industry like ours, we have invested heavily in training and staffing,” said Starr, Lake Oswego branch manager. “We strive to deliver quality service to the consumer as efficiently as possible, without compromising quality as the number one purchase lender in the state."

Guild offers a traditional range of residential mortgage products and funds most of its loans, which provides consistency and also speeds approvals. Its loan professionals can serve the needs of any homebuyer, from helping first-time homebuyers achieve their dreams of home ownership, often through government loan programs, to providing jumbo home loans through its relationship with Mutual of Omaha Bank. Guild also specializes in helping active duty and retired military personnel to secure VA loans, which provide 100 percent financing and flexible qualifying standards.
