​High Local STI Rates Prompt Oregon City School Board To Hold Meeting

From the Oregon City School District:

Did you know that over the last five years, the number of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis cases has dramatically increased in Clackamas County? In 2017, there were 1,441 cases of chlamydia, 340 cases of gonorrhea, and 56 cases of syphilis. At a School Board Work Session in October, representatives from Clackamas County Public Health reported these and other alarming STI rates. As a result, the Oregon City School Board will discuss a resolution to amend the existing agreement with Clackamas County to make contraceptives available at the School-Based Health Clinic at Oregon City High School at their meeting on December 9th. The Board will consider adopting the resolution at the January 13th meeting.
