Man Shoots Neighbor's Dog In Molalla: Sheriff
Preston Gorbett reportedly told his neighbor that he'd shot her dog in the face with a .44 Magnum last Friday.

MOLALLA, OR — While details of the crime remain unclear, Clackamas County Sheriff's officials on Monday announced the arrest of a Molalla man who allegedly shot his neighbor's dog in the face with a high caliber revolver.
Preston Larch Gorbett, 68, was taken to Clackamas County Jail following his arrest last Friday. He is reportedly charged with aggravated animal abuse. He has since been released from custody.
According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, a resident in the 15700-block of South Highway 211 in Molalla called police on Aug. 17 to report Rudy, her yellow Lab, was missing, and that her neighbor, Gorbett, said he'd shot the dog.

After interviewing witnesses and Gorbett, investigators determined he did in fact shoot Rudy in the face with a .44 Magnum, officials said. Sheriff's officials did not offer to share Gorbett's motive for the alleged shooting.
Gorbett was arrested without incident.

Rudy was eventually located and taken to an animal hospital; he is expected to survive, officials said.
