Sipping For Seniors: Rae Gordon To Perform Benefit Concert Aug. 24 In Milwaukie

Gordon and her seven-piece band will play blues and gospel tunes to benefit the Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County.

MILWAUKIE, OR — Oregon City-based blues and gospel singer Rae Gordon will perform later this month for the third annual Sipping for Seniors benefit event at the Gray Gables Estate, 3009 S.E. Chestnut St. in Milwaukie.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, Gordon will provide the entertainment while the audience enjoys wine and beer tasting, as well as light hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $25 and will benefit the Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County, a free-to-low-cost service provider promoting independence and self-sufficiency among homebound, frail and geographically isolated adults in the Portland metro area.

Included with the ticket purchase are one glass of beer or wine and a raffle entry for a chance to win two suite tickets to an Oregon Ducks football game, courtesy of Wells Fargo.

Hailing from Lake Elsinore, California, Gordon is said to blend Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, and Grace Slick styles, earning her the title of best blues artist in Portland for 2017 from alt-weekly Portland publication Willamette Week.

Additionally, Gordon has been named best female vocalist by the Cascade Blues Association for the past three years, and earlier in 2017 she and her seven-piece band placed third in an international blues competition held in Memphis.
