CCC students will now get hands-on experience with Subaru vehicles and get the same training required of all Subaru technicians.

OREGON CITY, OR — To increase a graduating students' chances of landing a job after school, Clackamas Community College and Subaru have partnered to bring Subaru University education to the college's Automotive Department curriculum.
CCC officials on Thursday announced the new program, which gives automotive students Subaru factory tools and software, as well as whole Subaru vehicles for hands-on experience, in order to prepare those students for a career with the New Jersey-based car company.
"The new technology in Subaru vehicles is going to change the way we teach car repair at CCC," said CCC automotive instructor Jared Green, who is also spearheading the project for CCC. "Students get to train on it all for free, then step into a great career. This is another example of how CCC partners with industry to provide education that works for our students."

As part of the program, Subaru donated a 2017 STI, a 2017 Outback, and a 2016 Forester. The combined training will reportedly give students the opportunity to receive the entry-level training required of all Subaru technicians, CCC spokeswoman Lori Hall said. Additionally, the program will help students get in touch with local Subaru outlets for chances at paid internships and future job opportunities, Hall said in a statement.
