Welches Man Thought He Beat His Girlfriend To Death, Sheriff Says

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says that 61-year-old William Bouley thought that he'd killed his girlfriend. He was wrong.

OREGON CITY, OR – William Joseph Bouley thought that he'd killed his girlfriend by beating her with a piece of wood as they argued in their home. It turns out that he was wrong and she survived. He's now charged with attempted murder.

That's what the Clackamas County Sheriff says happened just after midnight on Wednesday.

Bouley, who is 61-years-old and lives on the 68,300 block of East Twinberry Loop in Welches, and his girlfriend were arguing loudly enough that 911 was called and deputies responded to the home after getting a report of a domestic disturbance.

Deputies say that Bouley believed he'd killed his girlfriend. He was threatening to kill himself.

They told Bouley to walk out of the house.

He did as was told and was arrested.

Deputies rushed into the house along with paramedics.

They quickly found the victim on the couch.

Paramedics determined not only was she still alive but she was conscious.

They said that she was disoriented and had a severe head wound.

She was rushed to the hospital.

Bouley, meanwhile, is in Clackamas County Jail.
