Were the Oregon State Beavers Robbed? Maybe

Despite a strong finish and winning record against three of the teams that made the NCAA Tournament, the Beavers have been left out.

They finished with three strong games but it was apparently not enough for the Oregon State Beavers to make the NCAA College World Series.

They ended their regular season with a sweep of UCLA, winning 1-0, 3-0, and 6-0.

It made for five wins in their last six games, ending the season 35-19 overall and 16-14 in the Pac-12. They finished in a three way tie for third with Arizona and Arizona State.

The Beavers had been a consensus top ten preseason pick and had been ranked as high as number three in the country.

But they fell out of the polls after back to back series losses to Arizona and Oregon.

Still, two major websites - D1Baseball and Baseball America - had predicted the Beavers would be a Number Three seed in the CWS.

And other than against Arizona - who swept them in their season series - the Beavers had winning records against other Pac-12 teams including 3-0 against Arizona State, 2-1 against Utah, and 2-1 against Washington.

Arizona State, Washington, and Utah all made the tournament.

It ended a streak of seven straight College World Series appearances for the Beavers, marking the first time since 2008 they have not made the tournament.

The Beavers, though, took it in stride and thanked their fans.
