Escaped Coffee Creek Inmate Captured In Tualatin

Lorrie Hocker got out of a van she was taking to a work assignment in Salem Monday morning and fled, officials said. She was found Friday.

WILSONVILLE, OR — A minimum-custody inmate at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville who escaped custody early Monday while on her way to a work assignment in Salem was caught in Tualatin Friday afternoon, according to Oregon Department of Corrections officials.

Lorrie Marie Hocker, 42, reportedly opened the door of the van in which she was riding and fled just before 7 a.m. Dec. 4. She was arrested by Tualatin police around 3:45 p.m. Dec. 8.

Hocker was previously scheduled for release in July 2018. There's no word yet on how her escape will alter her sentence.

"The Department of Corrections thanks Tualatin Police Department, the Oregon State Police, and the public for all of the tips, investigation, and hard work leading to Hocker's arrest," DOC Inspector General Craig Prins said in a statement. "It's partnerships like these that help all of us to meet our mission of protecting the public, and we are pleased she is safe and back in custody."

Hocker was brought to the Coffee Creek facility in September, officials said. She'd been convicted of coercion in Montana and felony assault in Lane County. Hocker's criminal record also includes convictions for theft, forgery, and fraud beginning in 1995.
