Coyotes In Wilsonville Alarm Residents: Video

Bridgecreek Apartments resident Sandy Wilson heard the pack of coyotes along Boeckman Creek early Sunday.

WILSONVILLE, OR — Are coyotes coming into the Wilsonville city limits? According to a video recorded by Bridgecreek Apartments resident Sandy Wilson, it sure sounds that way.

Wilson shared the short video with Patch after she recorded it around 3 a.m. April 8. In it, several coyotes can be heard seemingly very near her front door.

The howling coyotes, Wilson said, seemed to be grouped in the wooded area along Boeckman Creek, which runs north to south between Southwest Canyon Creek Road/Town Center Loop East on the creek's westside, and Southwest Wilsonville Road on the east.

An outdoor cat who lives in the apartment complex, which Wilson said she typically feeds, hasn't been seen in more than 24 hours, she said, adding that she's worried "it might have been dinner."

Wilson, a resident of Bridgecreek Apartments for more than nine years, said this is the first time she's heard coyotes so close to town and worries about garbage and pets who are left outside that could attract the scavengers into neighborhoods where they might not usually be seen.

"I recently seen one coyote over in the field next to the WES train station here in Wilsonville, too," she said. "A pack can take down a deer."
