Dutch Bros Raises $2000 For McMinnville Girl

Mikalynn Morris, 9, is reportedly battling a rare and serious disease called aplastic anemia. Her local Dutch Bros raised money to help.

MCMINNVILLE, OR — Forever true to its mission of providing good coffee and helping out its local communities, Dutch Bros last week raised $2,000 to help pay a young McMinnville girl's medical bills.

Mikalynn Morris, 9, is reportedly battling a rare and serious disease called aplastic anemia. More often found in children, young adults, and older adults, aplastic anemia is a bone marrow disease that stymies the production of red blood cells.

According to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation in Maryland, the only cure for the disease is a full bone marrow transplant, which can cost around $800,000 for an allogenic transplant — that is, a transplant from another person.
