"This is the perfect time so share some bike-riding safety tips to ensure you and your family have safe and enjoyable bike rides throughout the summer," he said.

Along those lines, he offers the following tips:

Follow the rules of the road;

Ride with traffic and obey the same laws as motorists;

Use the furthermost right lane that heads in the direction that you are traveling;

Obey all traffic control devices such as stop signs, lights, and lane markings;

Ride where drivers can see you;

Wear brightly colored clothing at all times.

"I hope these tips help ensure that you and your family have many great bike ridges thought the month of May and all year long," he said.
